CERTIFICATion COURSES

Certificate courses may be pursued by eligible candidates after completing their 12th standard schooling. Some PG certificate courses exist too! The certificate courses are designed and crafted by the DGITO. As a result, the course duration and content may vary from one course to another. Fast track certificate courses lasts for a period of 9 days. General certificate course lasts for a period of 6 months to 1 year.

The Aircraft /Flight Dispatcher course contains the same syllabus and subjects covered in the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). FRONT OFFICE ASSOCIATES

The course shall equip the successful trainees with requisite skills and knowledge to work efficiently and courteously while welcoming guests at hotels and restaurant. This training program falls under the trade of hospitality, travel and tourism. The main aim of this training program is to develop customer service skills in students. A front office associate or receptionist takes care of front office operations at hospitality firms and establishments. Take a hotel as an example.

Requirements And Qualities

AGE LIMIT

Most institutes only accept male and female aspirants who are between the ages of 17-25 or have extended upper age limit upto 26 years.

MEDICAL STANDARDS

•Eyesight requirements- minimum eyesight requirement is 6/9. Many airlines allow candidates to correct eyesight and make it 20/20! Candidate shouldn’t have had history of mental illness in the past. Candidate should not be suffering from serious Cardiovascular disease.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

Minimum height requirement is 157 cm (for females) and 170 cm (for males). This requirement may differ from one airline to another. Weight of the candidate should be in proportion to his/her weight. Spotless skin complexion will give candidates an edge. Candidate has to be physically fit.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALITIES

Other than the above mentioned criteria, the profession of Air Hostess also demands some other qualities. Aspirants who want to build a rewarding career in this field must also have the following traits. They are- • Marital status- unmarried (not applicable in case of all airlines). • Presence of mind and quick thinking. • Leadership and team working capability.

NSDC

The Government of India through Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) holds 49% of the share capital of NSDC, while the private sector has the balance 51% of the share capital. To contribute significantly to the overall target of skilling up of people in India, mainly by fostering private sector initiatives in skill development programmes and to provide funding.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), MoRD, Goverment of India. DGITO is a Project Implementation Agency (PIA) of many state govt & semi govt projects in MORD – DDU- GKY & other sectors to promote skill development by catalyzing the creation of large quality and International Certifications to make the global success.

AASSC

Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) is the apex body in skill development in the emerging Aerospace and Aviation sector. AASSC has been formed under the Government and Industry led initiative to skill Indian labour force.

B&WSSC

B&WSSC is not for profit organization promoted by CII with financial support from NSDC, under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

THSC

The Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) is promoted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with inclusive representation of the Government, Industry, Industry Associations and Training Institutes across India.
